today i’d like to thank the internet yet again for introducing me to the colenimo spring 2013 collection. i am in love with the crisp and clean lines with sporty sailor vibes and slouchy silhouettes. everything feels to effortless and chic, with girly details that never feel the least bit cutesy. the balance is so perfect that it makes me want to go clean out my closet and fill it with everything from this collection.

i’ve long been a fan of vivetta’s whimsical collections. this past season, i finally found myself tempted enough to pick up one of her beautiful hand collar blouses, and now i can say i’m officially hooked! and when i saw the same theme sprinkled throughout the spring 2013 collection, along with tons of other charming details, i knew that i would have to invest in even more of her playful pieces. even on such a gloomy day like today, a quick browse through her designs sweeps me in up into a dreamy fantasy land filled pretty pastels and fluffy kittens.

a couple of weeks back, i shared the paule ka resort collection, but i’m equally in love with their spring 2013 collection. the clean palette gives way to interesting silhouettes and quirky details like oversized gloves and ostrich feather trims, all with a decidedly ’60s aesthetic. i would love to be able to wrangle my hair in one of those big bouffants with pretty ribbons, and certainly wouldn’t mind a pair of clear lucite heels or a metallic handled basket bag. it’s a perfect mix of playful and elegant that i certainly wouldn’t mind adding to my own wardrobe!

one spring collection that’s got me swooning is karen walker spring 2013. i’ve long been a fan of her statement sunglasses, but i’m just as enamored with her quirky cute collections. titled “fantastique magnifique,” this collection was filled with retro-futuristic space prints, cool color combinations, and interesting proportions. i love the subtle wink and nod to the past while still keeping things feeling fresh and new. and i can’t wait to get my hands one one of those silly straw hats, which i’ve already pre-ordered for an upcoming trip to a tropical locale!

continuing on my spring inspiration kick, today i thought i’d share the club monaco spring 2013 campaign shot on the streets of new york by none other than venetia scott. i’m a huge fan of her work, so it’s not much of a surprise that i can’t get enough of this campaign. i know it seems a bit unexpected, but it’s definitely been interesting the way that club monaco has started to capture my attention over the past year or so. until then, i had never even stepped foot into one of their stores, but now i find myself stopping-in for a quick browse whenever i’m at the mall. and looking at the pieces in the collection, i think i might need to spring for that cute little trench!

it’s a new year, which is always a nice time to freshen up your look. i know that i’m currently on the hunt for some new frames, so i reached out to bonlook for some advice. they are currently offering a new virtual stylist consultation service. you simply fill out a short questionnaire about your personal style and face shape, and they will create a custom page just for you with a short video offering up suggestions on what frames will suit you the best. you can then share the page with your friends and put it up for a vote if you’d like!
to see an example of how it works, they created this video just for me. feel free to check it out, and even vote on what frames you think i should get next!
see something you like? bonlook would like to offer you 50% off on a second pair of glasses with code “CALI50” now through february 28!

i’ve been resisting the urge to post resort collections, but now that it’s january, i think we can officially start looking forward to spring break and summer vacation. paule ka first caught my attention last season with an eccentric fall collection filled with unexpected color combinations and inventive silhouettes. so of course, i had to check in on the latest resort collection, and i have to say i love it just as much! it particularly strikes a chord because i’ve been tying my hair into a little side pony with a ribbon for the past few weeks, and i just love these bright, bold bows. the colors are, once again, striking and interesting, and i love the ’60s vibe which will certainly continue to inspire me throughout the year.

while browsing through my blog reader, i recently came across this editorial shot by hana haley and styled by ashley miller of a dirty shame at the westin st. francis hotel in san francisco. i think it must be a san francisco pasttime to wander through the halls of old hotels late at night because this is certainly a scenario i’ve lived more than once in my years living here. it usually starts with a ride up the glass elevators for a view of the city lights. thought it’s certainly not quite as glamorous as these dreamy photos inspired by 1960’s teenagers playing dress up and heading out on adventures!
