adam: week 17

i went back through my photos for my weekly adam post, and it looks like somewhere along the line i skipped ahead by a week! i can’t figure out when it was or how i did the math wrong, so i’m just going to continue along with the timeline from week 17. if i ever figure it out, i’ll have to go back and fill in the missing week.

anyway, this is adam with that ridiculous dancing bunny that my grandparents got him for easter. it sings a song to the tune of the macarena. isn’t it funny how they always like the most annoying things? i find myself with that little jingle stuck in my head sometimes, “heeeey, jellybeana!”

so far, in adam’s short life, we have not yet stepped into a photo studio for a professional portrait. i do intend to do it at some point (maybe at six months? once a year?), but i was so in love with this little fancy lad outfit, that i decided to set him up on the living room sofa for a little portrait session of my own. the very generous rebecca from ladida boutique sent us this amazing little bubble romper and beautiful mustard cardigan fit for a special occasion. i topped it off with his little handmade sailor hat and a pair of white saltwater sandals. it’s just so perfect, i love to see babies wearing less traditional colors like black, and i love the contrast with the white and mustard. it’s the exact type of outfit that makes for a stellar portrait. in fact, i think i want to get one of these printed in a nice big size to share with family.

oh man, major fashion faux pas! looks like i put adam in the exact same outfit on both easter and mother’s day. well, he wore several different outfits on both days since he usually has between 2 – 3 outfit changes per day. not for the sake of fashion, but for the sake of cleanliness. so you guys are getting a repeat today. the only different is that these photos were shot several weeks prior to the last one. he wasn’t much in the mood for pictures on easter, so i assumed none of the shots we took that day came out, but lo and behold, i found a few gems.

i know i already share a weekly portrait of my little munchkin, but hopefully you won’t mind if he shows up in a few of my outfit posts here and there. i do tend to have even more fun dressing him than i do myself. and while i never plan it intentionally, on many occasions, we’ve also ended up walking out the door in coordinated outfits.  i mean, it does make a lot of sense why this happens. i pick out all of his clothes, so i tend to gravitate towards the same colors and patterns that i wear myself (mostly stripes, lots of navy). and every morning, i throw on an outfit moments before i get him dressed for the day. so when boden asked to send over a few pieces to try out, i didn’t think twice when i picked out the 5 pack breton stripe onesies for adam and the short sleeve breton for myself. so here we are in all of our glory this past weekend on mother’s day like a perfect pair of sailors.

i just got home from a weekend at my grandma’s house celebrating my first mother’s day, so i thought it would be fitting to post some photos of my little adam at 13 weeks on his three month birthday. he loves taking his bath, splashing around and taking little sips of water. so cute! also, i got a couple of questions about his bath. it’s the primo eurobath and we really love it.

i almost forgot to post my weekly photo of adam! my mom’s been in town helping me out with a few things and we’ve been doing some heavy-duty spring cleaning, so the blog has been taking a back seat this week. but of course, i couldn’t go without sorting through the pictures i took of adam in his 12th week of life. here he is all color coordinated napping on the couch.

i’ve decided to try and play catch up on my adam posts, so i hope you don’t mind too much if i double-up on these for the next couple of weeks! as you can see, i’m a little obsessed with osh kosh b’gosh. these photos were taken a week after my last post, but the outfit is almost the same and the baby is a tiny bit bigger!

i think i snapped this photo the day this silly little pixie bonnet arrived in the mail. my family teased that it was too girly, but i don’t care. it’s the cutest thing ever! anyway, when they’re this little, they’re not really boys or girls, they’re just babies!

when adam was nine weeks old, my brother came to stay with us for the week to help me out while brendan worked long days. it was so nice to have someone helping out that i ended up taking photos every single day. isn’t it such a wonderful problem when you have too many pictures to sort through?
