oh yeah, today is all about my brand new cat print dress! i can’t remember exactly how i discovered leah goren’s totally awesome etsy shop anymore. (i wanna say it was either siri or anja, though i do know i’ve seen both young and liz sporting said dress…) either way, i’ve had my eye on this darling little number for what seems like forever! and last week, i just couldn’t take it anymore and finally placed my order. it was hand printed and hand sewn to order and arrived with a cute little cat zine, too! and of course, i had to throw it on and gratuitously prance around for an outfit post right away. i love that it’s essentially a polka dot dress, thereby making it a perfect neutral to pair with any number of colors, layers, and accessories.

dress: leah goren handmade cat print dress
jacket: bensoni sailor trench coat
shoes: vintage salvatore ferragamo flats
bag: j.w. hulme mini legacy bag
lipstick: ysl rouge pur in le rouge
camera: meow pix camera (it meows!)

momo

momo

this is my little cat friend, momo. you may remember when i introduced her last year in this post when she was just a baby. well, at the time, i thought i would end up showering you with pictures of her all the time, but instead, she hasn’t made an appearance since! so here she is all grown up, though she still looks like a little kitten to me! her name is momo after the book by michael ende (the same author who penned the neverending story), which was a childhood favorite. brendan wanted to name her “money cat” after he read that tortoiseshell cats are good luck, so we usually call her “momo money cat!”

there’s also second sneaky little reason that i’m posting these photos… if you follow me on twitter, you may have seen my tweets about getting a new camera. well, i finally did it! these photos were the first test shots with my new canon 5d! i am so excited to play around with it some more. now let’s just see if these rainy days will let up!

a few new things

a few new things
just popping in today to share a few recent purchases that i acquired yesterday.  after a long day at work which involved locking my keys (and purse and wallet) in the car during my lunch break, i came home to a couple of nicely wrapped packages that arrived in the mail while i was out, including this adorable fur peter pan collar with an olive green satin bow from get lucky vintage and my dream cats 2011 calendar complete with a surprise photo print.  then i went on a little shopping trip to tj maxx and scored this incredible pair of blush pink chloÁ© heels!and while you won’t be able to go out and pick up the collar or the shoes, you can still buy the dreamcats calendar from field guided.  best calendar ever.

hello kitty

ok, ok, i said i was going to resist the urge to spam you with kitty pictures, but i had to give you guys a proper introduction! and also, showing you these photos will give you the most accurate portrayal of what yesterday and this morning have been like: no time for work, it’s kitty time all the time!but this is mostly due to the fact that she was belligerently drunk post-op and has been a rather surly handful. she was mewing constantly and falling all over the place, jumping up onto the couch only to tumble back off from a lack of balance. and unfortunately for kitty, she cannot resist the urge to lick her stitches, so we had to give her a fancy collar! you can image how much a cat might dislike having a giant plastic hat tied to her head. it’s been exhausting to say the least!but i did manage to snap just a few pictures of her this morning. we take off the collar when we know we can keep an eye on her so she can go about her way without tripping around on it. but at night, we keep it on so we can sleep! this is what she looked like when she greeted me this morning in her fashionable blue collar. a very grumpy cat indeed!

now i just need to think of a name! my boyfriend has been calling her gremlin. let’s just say, i’m open to suggestions!
