lately, i have been finding a certain appeal in the all black (or almost all black) outfit. we often think of black as being this incredibly easy and wearable fall-back color. but try wearing black from head-to-toe and you’ve got an entirely new challenge. wearing something so simple can certainly take quite a bit of confidence! you can’t rely on color to make the statement, but instead, you need to let the textures and proportions do all the talking. (or at least most of it.)
before the winter is up, i’ve resolved to try this at least once. would you wear an all black ensemble?

I do, alot. So many people are perplexed as to why, but I feel comfortable in black. Almost all my fashion posts contain black leggings of some form. I'm addicted.
Beautiful selections! Can't go wrong with any of them!
I love the head to toe black look, I think it's perfect for winter. I do it a lot but I end up feeling like a goth a lot of the time, but it's okay! haha

Not quite head to toe but I have been into black lately too. Must be the cold front moving across the country.
I would definitely do all black! Now that you mention it, I don't think I have. I am wearing nearly all black today – black shirt, tights, shoes… but my skirt is dark pink.

I have a really hard time with all black. It can be so chic and classy on others but my experience tells me to avoid it for myself. I end up feeling more blah than chic. I NEED color!
I wear all black fairly often. In fact I'm trying to force myself out the door now and so far everything selected is black. Hmmmm.
Being in NYC over the weekend definitely gave me the urge to wear a lot of black. I love the top right look the mostest!
Last year, I felt like almost everyday I wore black. My sweaters are all black. I love all black, the Sartorialist picture is so amazing!
I wear all black a lot. It's just easy, and it's hard to look bad!
I do! Living in NYC and dealing with subway rides, walking everywhere, etc., black is perfect to hide dirt! Plus it's chic and timeless! I love your blog! I smile and feel inspired every time I see your outfits.
Good luck! I know what you mean about wearing all black, it would be quite hard. I myself wouldn't because I adore colour and live in a hot climate :)
good samples. i prefer all black than anything else.
always and forever, black with a touch of brown like the granny boots or faux fur hat with a floral or tooled leather bag.
awesomeness
I would, and I have! There's a lot of black in my wardrobe – I think it's one of the few colours that always looks classic and chic. I do like to add a few bright accessories, though – is that cheating?!
I did, once, i ended up looking like a stage hand….maybe another try is in order
i'd totally wear an all black ensemble.. it's just that im trying to put it in my resolution that im gonna do that less this year. hahha!!! i need more colors! :D

I think the all black look can be very elegant, just in moderation.
I love all of these looks! I love an all black look and yes it is fun to challenge oneself when playing with shape and proportions!

I think I need to put together an all black outfit as soon as possible!
I would definitely wear an all black ensemble and actually do from time to time. I like to accessorize with pops of color though, so to look more "chic" than "in mourning".
xoxoxo
This almost makes me wish coats were necessary in FL. Almost.
just found you; I. love. this. blog.

I like all black – it makes me feel chic and moody.
