hasbeen

well folks, i have finally jumped the bandwagon on this one and i have to say, i am head over heels for swedish hasbeens! especially after seeing recent posts about clogs over at leproust and liebemarlene. i actually remember reading about them this summer on siri’s wonderfully inspiring blog last spring, and feeling quite conflicted. i absolutely loved the clean lines, retro colors, and classic styling, but i wasn’t sure if they’d ever be something i could a) afford and b) integrate into my wardrobe. but honestly, i don’t know how i could have ever doubted them, especially after stumbling upon these two pairs of wood-heeled boots on the swedish hasbeens site! i think i’m having a moment.

i seriously think i need those tan lace up boots and the black ankle boots, in addition to the classic clog sandals. the best part is that you can tell just from looking at the pictures that they’re constructed from thick leather that only gets better with age. they’re the type of shoes that last a lifetime, which means that even though they’re expensive, it’s totally worth it. ditto on their beautiful selection of bags! i didn’t even know they made bags, but i have to say, they’re just as pretty as the shoes!

  1. ahhhh i'm completely obsessed with swedish hasbeens right now too (also thanks to a sighting on leproust). i actually found a slightly more reasonably priced pair with a similar style on the apc madras website…but it's just not quite the same. i might have to bite the bullet and shell out for a pair. perfect for spring!!

  2. I LOVE swedish hasbeens. I have the same pair as "liebemarlene" – super comfortable. The low braided aren't so comfy. I'm really liking those lace up boots also. They are pretty spendy… :) I did my spending dash with Frye boots this winter.

    Hasbeens are worth the save!

  3. I spent all my time in Stockholm looking for a cheap version and I have to say, there were loads, but the quality is really awesome when it comes to Swedish Hasbeens.

  4. Oh my gosh I KNOW! I'm totally obsessed with them at the moment… unfortunately I want to buy them in every colour and pretty much every style. sigh

  5. You should get the boots!! I'm always wishing they'd go on sale . . .can you imagine the outfits you could make with them?

  6. Marni makes some adorable platform sandals/clogs and I wish I could afford THOSE. but these are just as good mmmmm.

  7. Aw hey thanks for the mention! I've really gotta get serious about saving up for a pair of these this year, man I just love em…although I want just about every pair from the No.6 Spring collection as well!

  8. I just recently discovered Hasbeens, and I am in love. They have such gorgeous colors, and the workmanship looks superb.

  9. girl! i just got a pair at American rag in sf, they were on sale half off!!!! I got the sandal clog, and they might still have some left! you have to at least try! hope you acquire a pair, they are sooooo comfy!!

  10. I love the jodphurs! I'm bummed that they're made of leather, as I won't purchase items made with animal products, but I don't think they would fit me even if I did!

I'm pretty basic when it comes to shoes, where I seem to own a lot of black. A LOT. When something like this occurs and there are so many awesome colors to choose from, how do YOU choose? This question is for anyone? Do you all stick to the same color palette or do you occasionally branch out? Sometimes I get tired of black and brown!
