and away i go again!

calivintage: away i go again!
today as i write this, i am on my way to join in on the madness that is new york fashion week. this will be my third time in attendance and it promises to be the perfect way to end a lovely summer before getting back to business back at home. i’ve been having a pretty nice time enjoying the lat summer with a few short excursions such as this one. in fact, over the weekend, i went on yet another cycling/camping trip through the sacramento river delta. then i had yesterday to rest up and recharge my batteries before taking off again for new york. and so, in the middle of all the madness, i’ve been dressing pretty simply. this is the outfit that i’m wearing for my travels, and it’s a pretty basic get-up, perfect for snoozing on the plane for the next 6 hours or so.
this evening, i’ll probably be relaxing at the hotel and adjusting to the time-difference, but tomorrow i’ll be attending the ifb evolving influence conference and party. it promises to be a really great event, and i’m happy to be going for the second time in a row. if you spot me, be sure to come up and say hello! i tend to get a bit flustered and overwhelmed at large events, so i hope to see some familiar faces as well!
bag: thrifted vintage coach purse
brooch: redwood pin from a gift shop in the avenue of the giants

  1. So simple, yet so stylish! There's nothing better than a little button up sweater! I've got a black one on now :) I think I could go for a rainbow of them!!!! Happy Wednesday :)

  2. Penny Loafers!! You are totally making me want some for fall to pair with cute navy blue pleated skirts.
    xo

Have fun at fashion week, can't wait to hear about it!

  3. Lovely! I hope the trip is great. By the way, are the Bass Wayfarers comfortable? I have considered getting some but I heard they are quite stiff at first. Do they soften or stretch a bit?

  4. I hope you have a fantastic time at NYFW! So exciting.

I am envious of those fabulous loafers by the way – they are fantastic.

  5. i'm so glad you own those loafers and posted these pictures. i have been debating them for ages but was afraid of them coming up too far on my foot and looking too old lady but they are perfect!

  6. I'll be there–and I keep going back and forth on what I should wear :( I don't know if I should dress manically or with some sense of composure…

    See you soon, Erin!

just picked myself up a pair of vintage loafers too, feels to right for now, i feel rebellious when i dress up preppy, bizarre right?

  9. Ooooo this is the sweater you posted about on your Tumblr today. Drool. And I love how you've dressed it; very pretty and cool. I know you've been posting lately about missing your old haircut, also… I loved your old cut but this pixie is adorable as well. Have fun at NYFW!

  10. I swear I've seen this outfit on your Polyvore. It was cute there but is even better "in person". :)

  12. You've managed to take really preppy elements and somehow make them look cool and relaxed instead of stuffy and uptight. This look is really cute on you:)

  15. such a classic look! How exciting you're going to new york. Can't wait to hear all about it. I wish I could go too :)

  16. I love how you can make even a cardigan and a pairt of jeans look so chic. Those loafers are awesome, you made me think about getting a pair too.

  17. Tu estilo es hermoso y original pero siempre tenés cara de aburrida. Tu ropa se luciría de otra manera si llevaras como accesorio una sonrisa.
