polka dot

i feel as though i have broken some sort of personal record for the number of times i’ve worn this polka dot dress this year. who knew that something as distinct as polka dots could turn into such an essential neutral in my wardrobe? it may have to do with the color because i feel like it goes with almost everything. but it may also have to do with the cut and size of it. somehow, it just feels so right when i throw it on.
i have definitely become a creature of habit when it comes to getting dressed lately. i find a certain formula, and i stick to it. whether that be particular colors, particular combinations, or just a handful of base items that i wear over and over again. i like it because i feel like i’m getting a lot of use out of many of my clothes, but i suppose i’d be lying if i said i wasn’t itching to do some fall shopping. there’s so much i want that i’m actually overwhelmed and haven’t made any decisions just yet. but i have a feeling it’s on the way. oh my poor wallet!

  1. I never would've imagined that polka dots could match with so many things, but you always find such brilliant ways to style them! This gives me inspiration to start pairing my polka dot clothes with more than just black or white.

  2. I love this! I especially love it because I blogged a pink and orange combo today too before I checked your blog! They were slighly different tones though. Love it when that happens!
    You're so stunning :)

  3. It's great that you have a formula — when it's as pretty as this, why quit it? I love your skirt, these photos and the fact that the sky subtly complements your ensemble.

I have a formula that I use almost all yearround — sweater, belt, dress and boots.

    Have a great weekend, Erin!

  4. you should wear more red, it looks so good on you!

I'm such a sucker for polka dot things too, it's so hard for me to pass up on anything polka dot at the thrift store. Naturally I have 3 navy blue with white polka dot blouses but they're different cuts okay!!! ;)

  5. i always think of this dress as your pretty woman dress! which seems definitely appropriate for you! :)

  6. Of course you look fab in that polka dotted dress. I love how you wear great basics but with such variation, it never feels like you're wearing the same outfit. And your choice of shoes, those Korkease makes me want a pair everytime you wear a pair, which is often. IF I do get a pair next spring, just know it will be because of you.

PS: Went to modcloth's blog today to check out your posts. Of course they are great. You fit in like Flynn over there in coolsville.
