hello kitty

calivintage: kitty pin

during my trip to new york, i was hellbent on squeezing in some shopping time amidst our busy tumblr schedule. on this particular day, i convinced sara zucker to take me to the ace hotel to do a bit of shopping at opening ceremony. unfortunately, the chloe sevigny dress that i was so dead-set on getting, was no longer available in my size. boo hoo. so we browsed around and chatted with the shop boy until there was barely enough light out for a proper outfit photo! oh, the trials and tribulations of being a blogger… hah!

so here i am in front of opening ceremony in my outfit for the day. i don’t know if you can make it out in these photos, but i am wearing a silly little kitty pin with googly eyes. and i’m wearing my brand new swedish hasbeens high heeled jodhpur boots. i absolutely love them, but i guess i wasn’t paying close enough attention to the measurements, because they are too small for my feet! i ordered the euro size 38, which translates to an american size 7.5. just a half size too small for my toes! if you’re interested in buying them, shoot me an email and i will give you a deal! update: they’re sold!

hat: thrifted vintage fur hat
dress and coat: asos
gloves: vintage leather gloves
tights: hue cable knit tights
bag: cambridge satchel from modcloth
shoes: swedish hasbeens high heeled jodhpur boots

  1. which chloe sevigny dress were you interested in? i have seen a few of them popping up on shopbop and la garconne, and they might still be on opening ceremony. i bought the sophie puff sleeve in the black and white floral print and while i am disappointed that it is not lined it is my favorite dress ever! (at least right now)

  2. I think every aspect of this outfit is brilliant: the gloves, the lipstick shade, the pin! The cream details are such a perfect mix with the orange and browns!

  3. Erin! My most favourtie style blogger of all time who has graciously answered my product queries in the past – I have another question for you (the hasbeens reminded me) You have the sky high t-straps in red, yes? I though I remembered you saying that they run really small – is that right? I missed the ones on modcloth last night, but I found another pair, only it’s a 41. I’m usually right inbetween a 39 and a 40, and I was wondering what your opinion on size was.
And also – when I’m just browsing ASOS I don’t typically find anything that I’m dying over, and yet everytime I see you weat ASOS stuff, I feel like it MUST BE IN MY CLOSET RIGHT NOW. You should probably be some sort of rep, everything from them I’ve bought because of you!
