with the weather so lovely out, i couldn’t resist taking my new maxi dress out for a test drive. so after work, i went on a little stroll around the neighborhood with the boy to soak up the last bits of sun before it set into the sky. this is the second time i’ve tried wearing a maxi length and i have to say, it’s growing on me! there is something so nice about feeling the length of fabric swish around my legs when i walk, and it’s also quite fun to experiment with styles that are far out of my comfort zone. something about the cool, breezy cotton of this dress coupled with the pretty print was just calling to me, and i’m glad i tried it out! it’s exactly the type of dress i could see myself wearing every weekend this summer.

Oh Erin, it’s gorgeous!!!!! I love it. Perfect. Looks grand on you.
Oh! How does that cardigan fit, I would love to find out, and buy it! ha! JCrew sizing is so difficult sometimes!
it’s suuuper long. longer than i expected, and i would say it runs slightly smaller in the arms than most other j.crew sweaters. but it’s still quite nice for throwing on to keep cozy!
I’m a short lady, too, and I’m looking for a perfect maxi dress. It will be nice to not worry about flashing when I bend over. ;) Yours is so lovely! Do you know if ASOS has any good maxis these days?
yes, they do! i got this particular dress as asos, actually. i’ve already got my eye on a couple more! so asos obsessed lately.
Lovely! You’re making want to break out one of my maxi dresses while this amazing weather lasts…
Just adorable! I envy you for the nice weather! Have a nice weekend! xo

It’s way out of my comfort zone since I am short, but I love that this one has a prairie skirt vibe.

Love the maxi dress! And the cardigan you paired it with :) Beautiful.
hi erin! i’ve been reading your blog for ages…and like you, i’m quite taken with the maxi length on skirts and dresses and such. so much so that i wrote a post on my blog a few weeks ago with the same title as the one you’ve just written.
