i feel pretty darn silly posting these pictures today because it is currently cold and rainy outside. but it was pretty pleasant over the weekend when i snapped these photos during a neighborhood stroll. i was excited to wear my new little prairie dress because even though this dress is modern, the reason i was so drawn to it is because it is such a classic ’70s and ’80s-inspired piece. this outfit actually makes me think of something my mother would have worn when she was younger, complete with the little cork wedges, though i’m sure hers would have been sky high because she clocks in at a teeny-tiny 4’11”!

speaking of moms, i’m super excited to be visiting southern california this weekend for my sister’s wedding! i get to see my whole family all together, which has become such a rare occurrence these days. and i always miss the warm desert weather when spring rolls around… i checked the forecast and it’s going to be in the high 80s! oh yeah, i’m pulling out all of my favorite sun dresses and getting some sun this weekend!

  1. You are gorgeous! And you’re currently my inspiration for my trip down to Florida for Spring Break! After enduring these chilly and dreary months in New York, I have no idea how to dress ‘summery’ again. I lovelovelove that dress. And those shoes. I’m tempted to buy a pair for myself. They look so comfy!

  2. I honestly thought I was going to continue to lurk and not comment again, but I can’t resist when you’re in that dress! You look beautiful, and that dress suits you so well, along with that cute hat. I’ve been eyeing that dress ever since it popped up on ModCloth, but I had to give myself a time out on buying dresses for a little bit (Now, I’m really tempted).

  3. I love that dress! Very 70’s/80’s indeed. Don’t you hate that when one day is so nice and the next day is awful? It’s such a teaser. I’ve been having moody weather all of April! Hope you have fun in California! Sounds lovely.

  4. I know what you mean by feeling silly posting summery picys when it’s raining but hey bloggers understand these things plus think about it this way I am reading your blog from Spain and I have no idea of what the weather is like back there!!

A wedding how exciting! Hopefully we will see pictures of your outfits soon!

  5. I love everything You Must Create does! I always draw on their look books for inspiration. The dress looks wonderful on you, it is making me long for sunshine on this drizzly So. Cal day.

    XO.

  6. Beautiful dress and great photos! I espeiclally love the last one where the fence shadow kind of echoes the form of those evergreens in the background. Lovely. :)

  7. hi, i don’t know if you still own this but i’m in LOVE with this dress, would you ever consider selling it??
