pretty much any time i see a bird on anything, i now have to reference that sketch. such was the case with my new bird print dress that i wore for a date night with the boy. and you’ll have to excuse the high volume of photos. i guess we got carried away prancing around the neighborhood in the setting sun. we were goofing off taking photos and looked over to notice some dude just watching us from his window. it was a little awkward, but i just laughed it off. i’ve been trying to be more and more brave about going out and taking pictures in public, but you would be amazed at how many people either stop to watch, or shout things from their car windows as they pass by. nothing bad, but it certainly makes me feel a little silly.
anyway, i really liked this look because it’s a little fancier than my usual attire. and it was the perfect opportunity for me to try wearing my new earrings from jene de spain. believe it or not, i have actually never worn dangly earrings before in my life. with short hair, i just never really thought they were a possibility! but these art deco-inspired earrings have proven me wrong! i actually think they are a perfect compliment to a short bob. i have been converted!
dress: vero moda bird print dress
shoes: swedish hasbeens ballerina hepburn flats

Absolutely gorgeous. Love the moody black & whites. Very 60’s glam. If I was driving by you guys in a car, I’d yell “you’re stunning” out the window x
gorgeous photos, Erin. i love this B&W edit. are you using one of those p-shop action sets for these?
Love the back of your dress!
one of my all-time favorite looks of yours! totally hip and gorgeous. love the black and white, too.
Vero Moda always has some chic dresses at wildly affordable prices. Loving yours!
Gorgeous pictures! Kudos on being more brave when taking public photos. I have yet to venture from my yard at this point . . . .
these pictures are gorgeous!
Gorgeous dress and photos! Love the ruffled bell sleeves
You should wear more earrings; they look fabulous on you.
These pictures are gorgeous, a little bit different and black/white suits you !
See U !
PS : love your hair so much
Oi, these pictures are dreamy! They remind me of those silent film star portraits…with a 60s spin?

Oh my! the best photos on your blog ever! You look purly beautiful!!!!!!!
glad to see your back blogging often! i missed your frequent post i gotta say. this dress reminded me of question i’ve had for a long time.. what bra do you wear with a dress like that? if at all? i know lingerie talk may be a bit risque but it’s an honest question.
I Love the black and white while the sun is setting. Its reminds me of summer evenings and really shows off the dress beautifully.

Such a beautiful look, I really love the black and white. Your hair is lookin’ awesome.
Awesome photos! The black and white works so well with the style of your outfit…
And I wanted to sew a dress almost like this :D
ultra gorgeous! I am in love with the pic showcasing your earrings and haircut, so fabulous! The black and white format is a fun and startling change, I love it!

Sure, deco earrings with deco hair! I love these pictures too. I think the most ridiculous thing I’ve had while taking pictures in public was some little boy who kept running into the shot behind me, and mimicking all my poses. Except he kind of put me to shame. ; D
gorgeous photos! love your dress, it’s made me want to get it!
more photos are never a bad thing :) i’m glad you referred to taking photos in your neighborhood because I’ve been wondering what’s it’s like. my goal this summer is buy a camera with a tripod so i can attempt to take photos of myself, but i’ve been nervous thinking about how people will react/where to take the photos/getting mugged. glad to hear nothing bad has happened to you though!
So beautiful! The light is gorgeous through that sheer fabric. And now I want long earrings.

You make jumping shots look so good. I’ve tried and I look ridiculous haha.

I have never seen that sketch before, thank you for sharing, it made me chuckle :)
Your dress is lovely, I love big old prints and you’re right, your earing do compliment your bob perfectly. I can’t believe though that you have never worn dangalies before!
xxx

Super pretty dress! And I love these photos!
Love all the photos (especially that last one!) They remind me of stills from an old movie or something. The black and white is so great, but I would have loved to see the colors of the dress.
Amazingly beautiful photos! And the dress is a dream!
These are so gorgeous, the light is unbelievable!
I always feel so strange when people catch me taking photos. I get so self conscious and feel so weird about it!
you are incredibly lovely
These are such fantastic photos. I love the lighting, your expressions and that beautiful dress! So awesome. Isn’t it weird when someone is watching you? I was taking photos in front of what I believed to be a closed historic library and the whole time an old man inside was right behind me staring from his newspaper out of the old windows. Gah! Creepy, but I can’t blame him for being curious.
Ahhhhh. I love this blog. I think that you are able to pull off vintage in a way that most people cannot. I’m somewhat new to the Fashion Bloggin’ world. I feel sort of lost. Do you have any tips?? I would love to hear them if you do…. Check out my blog if you have time… http://sewnandheard.blogspot.com/
insanely frocking gorgeous dress
These are such beautiful, gorgeous photos, you look stunning! x
What a beautiful blog!! Lovely pictures! xx
You look so beautiful, Erin! Your dress is glorious and the dangle earrings are a perfect touch. Personally, I think larger earrings look better with shorter haircuts than with longer hair. You’ve proven my theory correct, I believe!
you look gorgeous!
I love your hair and these pictures are marvellous!!
love, Peppie
these photos are so so beautiful!! that second one most of all. your camera is really great, i need to invest in something like that.
beautiful earrings, and I must say, your hair is looking perfect right now! perfect bob and fringe
Haha that sketch made me chuckle! I’m such a sucker for a bird, our AW11 fabrics have even more birds than before… eeeeeeek not sure when the obsession will end!
You look adorable all glammed up! It’s our date night tonight, hope I look half as pretty :)
awww, so gorgeous! i love your modeling here erin – you obviously look like you feel sexy but you’re having fun and being confident at the same time. such a great combo! the back of this dress is beautiful!
