one thing that i love most about the summer season is that it’s still light out at 8:30pm, as was the case when we snapped these photos before a night out. unfortunately, it was a little dark for photos, but i wanted to capture my silly little outfit, which is clearly somewhere between retro flight attendant and daffy duck! the hat is definitely what does it. i scored this darling little topper for only 5 bucks at the flea market. i’m sure it’s seen better days, but i’m happy to give it new life in the form of another cartoonish outfit. sometimes you’re just in the mood to play!

dress: vintage, gift from my mom
shoes: thrifted vintage
hat: vintage, from the alameda flea market
bag: j.w. hulme mini legacy bag
lipstick: ysl fard a levres rouge pur in rosy coral

  1. Its awesome! I love “cartoonish” outfits – so quirky and happy. Its a great combo that you won’t forget (and neither will I – I want a furry hat now. I can’t see it all that well, but it reminds me a little of the marc jacobs polka dot hats for f/w 2011 sans neck brace or whatever that thing is)

  2. When I read daffy duck inspired on your twitter, I just HAD to take a look. Fantastic! I’m glad you don’t take yourself too seriously when it comes to fashion.

  4. You look lovely, the hat “tops it off” perfectly for this look hehe. Yellow is such a good color on you! (yes, totally jealous : ) What amazing thrift/flea market finds & great vintage find of your mom on the dress… if only my mom could pick out such cute things! And I think the lighting makes these pictures really pretty, doesn”™t seem to dark to me!

  5. These pictures are gorgeous, and your hat is adorable! My best friend is obsessed with vintage hats, and I know she’d be jealous of that one!

  6. you’ve really found your groove when it comes to fashion lately– every outfit is better than the last! and you always look 100% true to who you are (this, coming from someone who doesn’t actually *know* you, but i think you get the idea :)

    1. oh wow, thank you! that’s such a nice compliment! i definitely understand what you mean, i’ve definitely been making a big effort to pull from within when i get dressed, so i’m glad to hear this! thank you!

  7. Must say, your mom has great taste. There’s been a few times, I’ve really loved an item you are wearing, scrolled down and seen it was a gift from your lovely mom {awe}. Now I see where you get it from xo

    1. haha, thanks! she’s definitely the person who taught me what i know about vintage and about style in general. she’s the one who will buy me some crazy vintage piece and i’ll think she’s nuts, then 2 months later, i am obsessed with it! i got lucky!

  8. so cute! before i read your post, i thought to myself, “this is how i wish flight attendants still dressed”. the detailing on your dress is really neat, too. are they sequins? embroidery?
