it’s friday and i’m finally beginning to feel back to normal! thank you so much for all your well wishes on my last post! i’m excited to be feeling better because i’m about to go on a quick weekend trip to the monterey/carmel area to celebrate brendan’s birthday. we booked an historic room designed by julia morgan at the asilomar state park and we have all sorts of fun weekend adventures planned out!

but until then, here is my last outfit of the week: you may remember this dress from my velma-inspired outfit a few months back, but this time i decided to revise the look a bit by chopping off a few inches from the skirt to create a mini dress. i’m always drawn to shorter lengths, so it’s hard for me to resist the urge to snip away at my hems! but in this case, i think less is definitely more. now let’s just see what i do with my hair…

dress: vintage psychedelic print dress
shoes: thrifted vintage heels
bag: j.w. hulme mini legacy bag
sunglasses: karen walker number six

  1. I agree! I like it at the shorter length, too. The dress is just so darling, and your entire outfit is so cute… By the way, I loved your “velma” post. I saw it when you first posted it, and I found it to be quite funny… I too have been called velma because of my hair cut, and glasses! and well… the guy that first told me denoted himself as “Austin Powers”. Gotta love it…

  2. Aw love your little face/expression in the third last pic – so cute! This dress is adorable too, love the pattern.

  3. I adore this print – the colours are stunning! I’ve been searching for little shoesies just like those to no avail – i love the style and heel height. Perfectly paired with the dress too:)

  4. The length is great, Erin! I, too, have trouble not hacking everything to above the knees, but sometimes you’ve gotta stick to your guns!

  5. You’re a deliberate style genius. Velma was always my favourite and I always thought living proof that if I were a guy, she would be the girl with glasses that I would make a pass at :)

  6. Erin, I think the mod length is a classic – a snip to the hem is seldom a bad thing if you ask me. I also find that every girl has the look of a certain era to them no matter what they wear, and I’d say yours is the ’60s.
