street style at outside lands, days two and three

calivintage: street style at outside lands

and just as quickly as it came, outside lands has drawn to a close. these are some more of my favorite street style shots from saturday and sunday at the festival. it was so crowded on the weekend days, that getting a decent shot was actually pretty challenging, but i still spotted plenty of fashionable festival-goers. just like last time, you can see many more of the bohemian styles i shot for free people on their blog: day two and day three.

i can’t express how fun of an experience it really was to watch all of the people pass by with their own unique personal style and to be able to take photos to document that moment in time. this is actually getting me really excited for new york fashion week, where i hope to snap even more street style photos!

  1. You should definitely make street style a regular feature on your blog! Your pictures are amazing, and you have a truly great eye for finding inspirational outfits. Every one of these ladies is wearing something just a bit unexpected and I love it!

  2. I love these posts! So inspirational. I always think it’s easer to get inspired by “normal”, real-life people then from models in staged photo shoots. Even though that’s nice too, of course. :)

  3. I love your street style segments! You have such a fantastic eye for unique and inspirational style. I really love these posts…and you’re making me very excited for your street style photos from NYFW too. :)

  4. Awesome shots!
I think my fave outfit is the lady in the double denim. The cut off shorts and the knee highs. Amazing!

  5. I was actually in SF this weekend too, but couldn’t afford to go to Outside Lands. I really love those floral pants on one of the street style photos. I sadly didn’t see anyone dressed quite this stylishly when I was in the city – perhaps I was looking in the wrong areas.

  6. I tried to find you guys everywhere!! But to no avail, but I did really want to say hi. And I love all the shots!! Can’t wait for fashion week.

  7. Thank you for shooting gals of all sizes! Not something you often see with street style taken of different people *cough*thesartorialist*cough*

    1. you’re welcome! i find it disconcerting when certain body types and skin colors are basically invisible to the fashion world. there is a very diverse range of lovely ladies out there with awesome style, so i try to take the opportunity to represent when i can!

  8. Great shots, Erin! Seriously you have an eye … and I kept getting your IG feed confused with Free People’s (duh). The thing I love is that you took pics of very different people, not all the same style/frame/etc. GREAT WORK, true street style. Brava.

  9. my favourite is the very last shot of the girl with black, lace socks on and a studded belt. i’m not sure why because i’m usually more drawn to prettier looks, but she just looks so real and rugged. you can imagine a life to go with her.

also loving fifith from the top. she just looks so happy!

  10. Lovely ankle boots, I think they’re repeated by two ladies? I’ve been seriously trying to keep an eye similar ones…any ideas?

  11. I love the skirt in the third picture!

I really like that you’ve used real people and that they are all so different – I always love it when bloggers use photos of people of all shapes as a lot of them only use tiny skinny girls – like the ones we are use to seeing plastered over magazines anyway.
I think bloggers like you, that show women of all shapes and sizes are great for young girls and will hopefully change some girls perception of weight and make them realise that it actually doesn’t matter and people of all sizes can look beautiful if they are themselves!
