if color is what you were looking for, then you certainly found it at milly spring 2012. it was an explosion of amazing vintage prints in a color palette of saturated reds, blues, and greens tempered by a rich chocolate brown with smatterings of bright chartreuse and yellow. the models sported bright pepto bismol pink lips and orange fingertips with an array of retro glasses for a fun and flirty yet decidedly geek chic look. definitely taking cues from the ’60s with mod shapes and prints, i just couldn’t get enough of this retro-chic collection. i didn’t get close ups, but if you look at their lapels, you’ll notice the cutest selection of little brooch pins in the shape foxes and owls and other silly little animals.
while the styling was a bit much for some of these looks, i could definitely see why when faced with such an assortment of cool details. and as cute as those little printed heels were, i don’t think i’ll be trying out stilettos any time soon, but i certainly do love the collaboration with sperry top siders in the form of those darling boat shoe platform heels! all in all, this was one of my favorite collections at fashion week, and it was an honor to be in attendance. now i just can’t wait for spring to get my hands on some of these pieces!

holy crap, what an amazing collection!
the color palette is perfect!
I agree with you on the stilettos but those loafers are lovely!
beautiful pictures! also looking at these, I’m beginning to suspect they made some of the models wear majorly padded/stuffed bras…only some of the models.
Yeah! But stop looking at their diddies ;)
that pleated chiffon maxi is insane!! and i love me some sperry topsiders in the springtime.

love the geometric print but the sunglasses are amazing!
Wow i LOVE this collection. I’ve seen numerous runway show pictures from this fashion week but am usually pretty put off by how unwearable (for me) much of the stuff is. This however, is amazing, gives new life to nautical (an always will be favorite of mine) and gorgeous prints. Coming from a girl who wore shirts and jeans 10 years ago, i think this would fit quite nicely into my modern woredrobe!
it really is amazing. i think its my favorite show from nyfw!
Nice! The little brooches are cool, but I think the vintage-looking prints really take this collection to another level. I like it!
awesome photos! when i think of spring i think of milly. milly would definitely be at the top of my list of shows to see!
