with the holidays upon us, things have been just a little bit crazy around here! as soon as i finish writing this post, i’m jumping in the car to make the 7 hour drive to my hometown of redlands, ca where i’ll be visiting with family and working from the los angeles office for the next couple of weeks. it’s not quite a vacation because i’ll still be working, but it will be nice to have a change of setting and to be able to see my family when i get home at the end of the day. and i’m super excited to sit around the kitchen table with my grandma, mom, aunt, and sister to make tamales for christmas! yum!
but before i head out, i wanted to share part two of my series of outfits that i styled for ralph lauren denim & supply (you can see the first look here). these photos were shot on a sunny, albeit deceptively chilly, weekend afternoon. me and the boy headed over to blue bottle cafe in the jack london area of oakland for a nice hot cup of coffee and a stroll around the neighborhood. it’s an interesting mix of old buildings, some that have fallen by the wayside, and others that have been resurrected in the form of cool restaurants and fancy lofts. i like walking around and seeing the way the area has changed even in just the past 5 years that i’ve lived here. as we strolled around talking about nothing in particular, we could see the light bouncing off the side of this old brick building from a few blocks away and knew it would be a nice spot to hang out and goof off while drinking our coffee and enjoying the last of the light on a nice weekend day.

Super cute look. One of my favorites by you so far! Such a nice mix of bold colors. I also really like how your opaque tights and heels make your legs look like they’re a million miles long!
That’s so funny, last weekend I thrifted a coat in that exact same color and today I paired it with white and mustard! Gosh, I should have sent you a picture, mad :)
You look so lovely, Erin. Have fun in LA and enjoy the time with your family!

I love the colors in this. The yellow is this beautiful little bit of sunshine against that deep violet. You look cozy and polished!
I adore this outfit!!
I really like the super-bundled-upness of this (yikes, what kind of grammar was that). But anyway, super cozy with all the thick fabrics, different textures, and bright colours.
Have a great Christmas with your family!
Wonderful style as always! Have fun on your working vacation – tamales sound good!

I just fell in love with that outfit. It’s very chic and the combination of colors is just perfect! Glad you’re going back for Xmas. I’m living in Madrid now but I’m originally from Barcelona and I’m going back to my parents’ and to my town on Friday for 6 days. It’ll be good to be back :)

The shoes are amazing, and i have to say, that you look like a walking ad. I loved how you carried yourself and this look in the pictures.
haha, why thank you, i take that as quite the compliment. it’s funny how some clothes just make us stand a little taller and smile a little brighter.
you have a cute bob hair. reminds me of Geum Jan Di’s. hoho cute!! :D :D :D
I hope that you are carpool on the metrolink… when I was interning at EMI /Capitol, I would need to take the Metrolink from Downtown Riverside. It was a sweet ride. compared to IE traffic jam… Have fun with your family and enjoy the sunny weather, tomorrow.

Blair Waldorf would be proud of this outfit :)
This outfit looks very classy, chic, smart without overdoing. Perfection.
Great outfits! They look warm and practical without losing a very stylish edge. I probably should check out Oakland a little more than I do. I tend to spend all my free days in good old San Francisco. The spot you took these pics at looks very nice.
