the tomboy style lookbook for myrtle boutique

last week, i received an email from the lovely megan mcisaac telling me all about her latest project shooting the tomboy style-inspired lookbook for echo park boutique, myrtle. and i kid you not, i literally gasped when i saw the images and professed to my coworker my newfound desire to throw out everything in my closet and to start fresh with this lookbook as my inspiration. it couldn’t have arrived in my inbox at a better time because i had just that week been building a new moodboard in my office filled with similar tomboy styles in mind.

anyway, the clothes were modeled by caitlin g. dennis and shot by megan mcisaac in frank lloyd wrights hollyhock house in barnsdall park in los angeles, california. and all of the clothes, both new and vintage, were provided by myrtle, a new boutique in echo park. now excuse me while i wistfully stare at these photos dreaming of a new wardrobe…

  1. I’m all about all of this. It’s very minimalist, yet it all says so much.
That green suit is just breathtaking.

  2. the light and the colours in this are just beautiful

and there is something so magical about that trench coat… NEED.

  3. Whoa! The Hollyhock House is in my hood, I almost spit out my tea when I saw the concrete hollyhock pattern. Small world! I’m going to need to check out Myrtle…actually if you’re ever in LA, Echo Park has a few handfulls of super cool boutiques on Sunset that are truly worth checking out.

  4. Omg, this is exactly the kind of wardrobe I’ve been aspiring toward. (Longing sigh.)
I work in a very conservative, old-fashioned office and am required to wear a pant suit every day — skirts and dresses are not allowed — so the green linen suit here is such an inspiration. I wonder if I could get away with something like that.
