i returned from my ten day trip to new york on thursday night, got in a good night’s sleep, and woke up bright and early the next day to head out for yet another weekend away. this time, i headed up north along the california coast to the sleepy town of gualala, ca to celebrate seven years with my partner brendan. it was quite the whirlwind to transition from the hustle and bustle of new york city to a spacious cabin overlooking the ocean, but it was definitely a welcome retreat. we rented a little spot at st. orres (where we actually stayed for my birthday back in january), and spent most of our time relaxing in the hot tub and taking-in the majestic views. the retro cabin looked practically untouched since it was built in the 1970s and it seemed to match too perfectly with my outfit, so we decided to do a quick photo shoot to remember this silly little spot!
i’m now back at home, feeling relaxed, and getting ready to head out to work. my vacation is over, but i still have tons of fashion week photos to show you, so i’ll consider this just a brief interlude between all of the noise of fashion week.
wearing: vegan leather dress and lace top courtesy of lulu’s, vintage t-strap shoes from pretty penny vintage, and make up for ever lipstick in bright orange

congrats to you and brendan! what a perfect way to celebrate a lasting partnership, especially after such a hectic time in NYC. it was great to see you, btw, and i’m sorry i didn’t get to give you a proper good-bye hug! this internet one will have to suffice ( ( *HUG* ) )
thank you, liz! it’s crazy to imagine that we’ve been together this long and i’m super stoked that we had the opportunity to celebrate. and of course it was sooo niceee to be able to see you while i was in new york. i’m also bummed we didn’t have a proper goodbye, but i’m sure i’ll see you again in no time!
I am freakin out over this dress. I’ve been hunting all over for an all leather dress, and the guilt-free factor or vegan leather is so perfect! so so so cute- I love it!
oh good, i’m so glad you found it! my jaw dropped when i saw it online because i have been lusting after leather dresses for the fall that won’t break the bank. this one runs a little wide, fyi!
…and you match the couch! #perfecto
xo.
hehe, it was a match made in heaven!

What a sweet little location! I also love this leather dress. I’m super excited about faux leather to wear this fall.
love the dress! and these interior shots are great.
thank you! i was just thinking about how i never ever shoot indoors, but why not? i’m glad you like them!
i looove the dress, i always like leather pieces that are more “demure” in shape (as opposed to studded/bodycon kinda stuff.
same! i feel like leather + bodycon is just a bit to dominatrix for my taste, but a more demure piece like this reads all sorts of 1960s goodness. i’m glad you like it!!
Love the pairing of the leather dress with the pretty white lace x Sushi
damn you look good. love how you almost blended in into the couch. lol.
hehe it was a nice touch, wasn’t it? a match made in heaven…
Ah! I love these photos too much! You’re right, the cabin does match your dress perfectly- kudos!
Can’t wait to see your photos from NYFW!
I’m fallen head over heels for that dress! Got the website up now..

You’re wearing camoflauge in that picture on the couch! Congrats on 7 years, looks like you had a great time celebrating!
PS: I’d love it if you stopped by my blog, I just did a few recent posts on my thrifting adventures, some high-waist cut-offs I made, and my latest embroidery projects. I hope you like it!

That cabin looks like a wonderful place to celebrate an anniversary and you looked absolutely adorable in these pictures too! That leather dress is the best. Congratulations on 7 years together!
You match the furniture! How does that feel to be in camouflage?? I am sure it felt much better to be in the quiet than in the hustle and bustle of NY, unless you prefer the city life though.
what an awesome dress. i love the retro vibe of this photo shoot.
